SUMMARY:Session D: Low-Cost\, Community-Led Strategies for Strengthening Families and Preventing Violence with Jeanelle L. Artherhults\, Hands of Hope
DESCRIPTION:Session D: Low-Cost\, Community-Led Strategies for Strengthening Families and Preventing Violence with Jeanelle L. Artherhults\, Hands of Hope \nDescription: \nLow cost doesn’t mean low impact. Jeanelle will share about two projects\, a Game Night Event and a New Child Stipend Policy\, that were implemented through the DELTA Ahead grant in Grant County\, Indiana. These projects focused creating protective factors in the rural community\, with a focus on engaging and supporting fathers and families and highlight practical examples for prevention professionals how non-clinical\, non-punitive approaches can reduce isolation and increase social support. As we know\, these protective behaviors help to prevent domestic violence and child abuse. Let’s talk about how to use low cost options by meeting communities where they are\, working through community partnerships to create opportunities\, and strengthening protective factors by fostering family engagement. \n  \n  \n
