Financial Abuse & Supporting Survivors
Financial abuse is one of the most pervasive yet often downplayed forms of harm. Advocates often feel unprepared to recognize, talk about, or respond to financial abuse effectively. This training will discuss concrete steps on how to support survivors in a holistic, trauma-informed way that addresses not just immediate safety, but long-term stability and empowerment.
This training will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 9 AM – 5 PM at the Cherry Tree Inn & Suites, located at 2345 US-31 N, Traverse City, MI 49684 (Google Map). The Cherry Tree Inn & Suites has free self-parking.
There will be a 90-minute lunch break in the afternoon to allow for attendees to eat on their own. Please check out the local area to learn what is readily available. There are many options around the hotel, from quick grabs to fast food, dine-in restaurants, and more!
