New Service Provider Training is a hybrid training with two phases. Participants must complete phase one’s virtual sessions to participate in phase two’s in-person sessions.

In phase one, you will work independently and at your own pace in 10 virtual lessons hosted by the Michigan Victim Advocacy Network (MiVAN). MiVAN will provide training certificates for all virtual sessions you complete.

In phase two, training is delivered in-person over 2.5 days and facilitated by the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence (MCEDSV). Dates to attend phase two are offered monthly in rotating locations around the state.

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?

Staff from agencies funded by the following grant sources are eligible to attend New Service Provider Training: CSU, including (DVCS, DVCSF, DVCSM, DVCSV, and SDVS), SACS, federally recognized tribes, and TSH/TSHV.

New Service Provider Training is designed for those with one year or less of experience in direct service advocacy roles. If you have previously received a certificate of completion for New Service Provider Training, even if you have switched employment to a different agency, re-registering is not recommended, and MCEDSV may cancel registrations. If you are unsure or have questions about your ability to participate, please email us before registering.

The in-person training schedule is:

Day 1: 10 am – 6 pm

Day 2: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

Day 3: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

ABOUT CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs):

CEUs are offered for this training at no cost. MiVAN issues CEUs for the virtual sessions completed, and MCEDSV issues CEUs for the in-person sessions completed. Note: MCEDSV is an approved provider of CEUs for Social Work only.
