Practicing Your Message – Practical Tips for Making the Most of Limited Time
This is a virtual Lunch and Learn intended for attendees of the Survivor Services Day at the Capitol 2026.
Building on the foundations from our first session, this interactive training will help MCEDSV members strengthen and refine their message when speaking with elected officials in short timeframes allotted to legislative meetings. Whether you have a full meeting, a brief hallway conversation, or just a few minutes at a community event, knowing how to quickly and clearly convey your work is essential. In this session, participants will learn strategies for delivering concise, impactful messages that educate without lobbying, including how to prioritize key points, adapt your message on the spot, and communicate confidently under pressure. Through guided practice, sample scenarios, and practical feedback, you’ll gain tools you can immediately apply in real-world interactions with policymakers and their staff. This training is ideal for anyone who wants to feel more prepared, more polished, and more effective when opportunities for education arise.
