Michigan Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention and Treatment Board (MDSVPTB) Is a Governor-appointed Board responsible for administering state and federal funding for domestic violence and advocacy services. The Board develops and recommends policy, and develops and provides technical assistance and training. Working for Change: Understanding the Philosophical Framework for Working with Survivors of Domestic Violence & Sexual Violence Participation in this training is limited to those new employees and advocates at organizations where their positions are funded by MDSVPTB. Those not funded by MDSVPTB cannot be accommodated at this training. If you are uncertain, please check with your organization prior to registering. This training will be held at the DoubleTree Hilton Airport – Grand Rapids located at 4747 28th Street SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49512-1915, USA. Parking is free to guests of the hotel. Participants will be responsible for their own breakfast and lunch the first day (Tuesday), however dinner will be provided that evening. Wednesday – Friday lunch will be provided, but participants are responsible for their own breakfast and dinner. Training will begin promptly at 12:30 pm (registration begins at 12:00 pm) on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. Review the Agenda and Trainer Biographies here! Lodging at The DoubleTree Hilton Airport – Grand Rapids, MI: Attendees and others who are registering attendee(s) for this training, please review and share the following important information: MCEDSV arranges hotel reservations for registered/confirmed attendees who require lodging. Registration covers three nights of hotel (Tuesday through Thursday nights, checking out on Friday, the last day of training). MCEDSV covers lodging costs for room and tax only. Attendees may be required to present a personal credit card upon check-in for incidentals during their stay (i.e. in-room telephone calls, room service, food or sundry purchases, valet parking, etc.). —————- Register today – before the training fills up! It is free to MCEDSV members and non-members who are funded by MDSVPTB. Additional fees apply to register for CEUs for Social Work. —————- CANCELLATION AND SUBSTITUTION POLICY FOR ALL MCEDSV TRAININGS Notify MCEDSV in writing as soon as possible if you are unable to attend the training. A minimum 72-hour advance notice is required for most trainings and a training refund is not guaranteed if cancellations are not received by the deadline. We recommend that programs attempt to send another eligible person in the place of any registrant who cannot attend.
