One of the most stressful moments in working with survivors can come when a subpoena is served on the agency for testimony or survivor records. This training will help programs know what to do and how to navigate critical steps to protect survivors’ privacy.

Objectives:

Through this training, participants will learn:

1. When and how information in files and testimony can be subpoenaed;
2. How to know if a document is a valid subpoena;
3. What to do if a valid subpoena is served on the agency; and
4. How to work with an attorney to quash improper subpoenas.
