This project is supported by Crime Victim Assistance Grant Award 2016-VA-GX-0021 awarded to the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence by the Division of Victim Services, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The grant award comes from the Federal Crime Victims Fund, established by the Victims of Crime Act of 1984.

Meeting the Needs of Survivors in Poverty Economic justice must be a part of our work! Survivors in poverty face additional barriers to accessing services and becoming, and staying safe. This training will discuss the intersection of poverty with domestic and sexual violence and provide foundational methods for remaining strengths-based and trauma-informed when working with survivors experiencing deep economic need. This training will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Rapids Airport, 4747 28th Street SE Grand Rapids, MI 49512-1915. Parking is free for hotel guests. Participants will be responsible for their own breakfast and lunch. Training will begin promptly at 9am (registration begins at 8:30 am) There will be a 75 minute lunch break and there are a number of restaurants nearby. A minimum 72-hour advance notice is required for most trainings and a training refund is not guaranteed if cancellations are not received by the deadline (select trainings require earlier notice such as New Service Provider Training and those specific dates are noted on all training information pages). We recommend that programs attempt to send another eligible person in the place of any registrant who cannot attend.
